Italian for “corkscrew,” cavatappi is a ridged pasta similar to macaroni and was on my hungry mind while I wove this piece. The playful shapes and butter yellow warp threads are balanced with a lush cotton fringe in dusty rose and a colorful blue wool attaching the piece to a hand-sanded and oiled piece of bamboo.
